GHS field hockey beats Menchville, 2-1

The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team beat the Menchville Monarchs, 2-1, Tuesday night at home.
Reese Miller and Avery Watkins scored one goal each for the Lady Dukes. Watkins, Miller, Mackenzi Reece and Charlotte Houtz each had assists.
Menchville scored in a breakaway in the second quarter. Gloucester scored on consecutive penalty corners with less than eight minutes to go in the game and 30 seconds apart to secure the come-from-behind win in a highly competitive Peninsula District Game.
Gloucester outshot the Monarchs, 28-2, while earning 17 penalty corners and allowing zero.
After securing this win, Gloucester’s record increases to 9-0.
