The Gloucester High School field hockey team continued its winning streak this week, beating the Knights of Kellum High School, 6-1, in an away game Monday.
Offensively, the team was led by two goals each from Reese Miller and Mackenzi Reece. With each goal a milestone was reached. Miller now has tied the all-time record for scoring goals in a career with her 102nd goal. She will have a chance to break the record next week when the Dukes play three games versus Phoebus, Menchville and Saint Catherine’s. Reece eclipsed the 150-point mark with her second goal of the game.
Several others are nearing milestones as well. Closing out the scoring were Charlotte Houtz and Peyton Sutton. Assists were credited to Miller, Houtz, Sutton and Aaliyah Mattocks with two and Adyson Wymer with one. The effort was at a high level while taking 27 shots and being very effective. They gave up one goal while allowing seven shots. They earned eight penalty corners to the Knights’ one.
