Gloucester High School’s dinner theater production of “Murder in the House of Horrors” draws near its end with one final performance Thursday night, following performances that were held on Dec. 4, 7 and 14.
“Murder in the House of Horrors,” written by Billy St. John and directed by Gloucester High School drama teacher Clint Alexander, is a comedic murder mystery in which the audience participates in the show, transformed into characters attending a museum lecture. Audience members will have the opportunity to be questioned by the cast, submit accusations to the “guards,” and even interrogate the suspects on stage.
The show opens with museum owner Dr. Johann Vanderveer, played by Ben Tschirhart, introducing famed archaeologist and professor Dirk Carlton (Jacob Underwood) and his assistant, Elena Newman (Brenna Hendrix in this performance; Emily DePauw in earlier ones). The professor is soon murdered, leaving seven suspects in the building.
