The Gloucester Branch of the NAACP will hold its College, Career & Resource Fair from 5-7 p.m. next Thursday, Oct. 17, in the Gloucester High School gym.
According to Gloucester’s NAACP Education Committee Chairperson Dr. Lourdes Travieso-Parker, more than 50 institutions, including colleges and technical schools, will be attending to inform students of their offerings. The fair will showcase a broad range of careers and higher education options.
“We have all of the military,” said Travieso-Parker.
The NAACP took over the event three years ago and originally recruited 30 organizations to participate in the event. Last year, 40+ organizations attended. “Now, we have 50-plus,” said Travieso-Parker.
The event has grown over the years with nearly 300 people attending last year. “We’re hoping we have more this year,” said Travieso-Parker.
