The Gloucester High School boys won their last two Peninsula District tennis matches to finish the schedule with a 5-4 record. The Dukes beat Warwick, 5-4, last Thursday and swept Phoebus, 9-0, on April 23.
Against the Raiders, Gloucester number one seed Sam Markwith lost but number two seed Justin Edington won in straight 6-4 sets. Wesley Keeter at number three lost his first set, 3-6, but came back to win the second, 6-2, and the tiebreaker, 11-9.
Fourth seed Elliott Theuerkauf lost but fifth seed Daniel Osborn won, 6-2, 6-1. Sixth seed Ian Hardee lost in a tiebreaker. In doubles, Markwith and Theuerkauf lost but Edington and Keeter won, 8-0, and Osborn and James Hutzler won, 8-4.
