The Gloucester High School varsity boys have struggled in their early basketball matchups while the varsity girls have fared a little better. The boys lost their opener with Woodside 103-33, then lost to Denbigh 82-45, Heritage 99-36, Kecoughtan 94-29, and Phoebus 66-29.
The Gloucester girls are 1-4 after getting blown out, 50-13, in their opener with Woodside. They won the next game with Denbigh 53-44 but lost a tight game with Heritage, 49-44. They also fell, 57-8, to Kecoughtan and 57-44 to Phoebus.
The girls and boys host Bethel tonight. The boys are scheduled to participate in the Tabb Holiday Tournament on Friday and Saturday while the girls head to the York Tournament on the same dates.
