GHS basketball teams close season; boys win

The Gloucester High School basketball season closed last Thursday with the Gloucester boys getting their second Peninsula District win of the season.

The boys beat visiting Warwick, 60-53, for their second win over the Raiders. Chris Morgan led the effort with 15 points as the Dukes finished at 2-16 district play. The varsity girls closed the district schedule at 1-17.

The GHS Athletic Boosters Club hosted its second annual Chili Cook-Off during the final game night, with the girls’ soccer team capturing the top $100 prize for its program. Proceeds from the chili sales will help support athletics at the school.
