The Gloucester High School varsity baseball team picked up two wins this past week against Bethel and Phoebus.The Dukes defeated the Bethel Bruins, 3-0, last Thursday at home. Gloucester had five hits and two errors, while Bethel had two hits and one error. Austin Shackelford pitched a complete game. Hayden Simmons had three hits for three at-bats with two triples and two runs scored.
Gloucester traveled to Phoebus Tuesday and beat the Phantoms, 15-4. Gloucester had 15 hits and three errors, while the Phantoms had six hits and two errors. Colter Callis and Simmons both had three hits for four at-bats and Braydon Enoch had two hits for three at-bats.
The Dukes are scheduled to play at home this afternoon against Phoebus. They will play Warhill Monday at home and Heritage on the road Tuesday. All games have a 4:30 p.m. start time.
Gloucester has a current record of 12-2.
