Getting and keeping your lawn in shape is a year-round job

At this time of year, people may become rather discouraged by the extreme weather conditions and not give lawn care maintenance much of a thought.
It usually is extraordinarily hot and dry in our area, or at times we have an overabundance of rain along with the heat and humidity. In Tidewater Virginia, and in particular Gloucester and Mathews, residents must check the weather forecasts almost daily, to keep abreast of what to plant, when to plant, when to cut grass, watering needs, etc., and generally how to keep our yards/lawns looking their best.
It is especially difficult during late summer and early fall to determine what may prove the best ways to take care of our often drought-stricken yards.
