Those looking for ways to get active this summer and further explore Gloucester County by themselves or with the whole family ought to give the new GLOutdoors Challenge a try.
“We’re always trying to think of new things,” said Susan Ammons, Tourism and Marketing Supervisor of Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
From now until Feb. 28 of next year, residents and visitors alike are encouraged to complete 14 challenges that will get them outside and moving around Gloucester County from Main Street to Gloucester Point Beach Park.
“Each location has a QR code,” said Ammons.
After completing a challenge, the participant will scan a QR code located at the challenge site to mark the activity as completed and answer questions about their experience. According to Ammons, questions can range from what kind of wildlife the participant saw on their hike at Beaverdam Park to what they learned about the interpretive area at Machicomoco State Park.
“You can’t answer wrong,” said Ammons.
