Gertrude Gunn Lemons, 91, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, in the Gloucester House.

 

She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester, and was the daughter of the late George W. and Emma Rilee Gunn and the widow of John Wesley Lemons Jr. She was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church and the XYZ Club.

 

She was also preceded in death by her son, John W. Lemons III, and daughter Frances L. Drake.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Hobbs (Jack) of Amherst, Va.; son, Richard Lemons (Lisa) of Gloucester; sister, Florence Goolsby of Richmond; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

 

The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, from 6-7:30 p.m. Funeral services were held on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

 

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
