GEORGE HOWARD WARREN

George Howard Warren of Hayes, loving husband, father and grandfather, was born on January 30, 1940, in Montgomery, Alabama. He went to his heavenly home peacefully on October 25, 2023, with his loving wife by his side. As a child, he moved to Newport News, Virginia, when he was two years old, where his father accepted a position at the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown, Virginia. Howard graduated from Warwick High School in 1959. Howard was a great patriot and served his country in the United States Marine Corps with distinction and pride. He was employed for over 40 years in the defense industry, working in various parts of the world. Being raised in a Christian home, he accepted Christ in his life at an early age. He later joined Gloucester Point Baptist Church, where he remained a supportive and faithful member. He was passionate about his nursery ministry and served in various capacities as called. During his years of military service and lifetime working career, he worked in 85 different countries, including Iraq and Afghanistan. When possible, together with his wife, they discovered new destinations all around the world. Always ready and willing to go, to serve his country, his most rewarding moments were at home, taking care of his home and his loving wife. He and Sharon both loved spending time with their grandchildren, especially when they were young.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruby Warren; brother Neil, and sister, Elizabeth Wheeler. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sharon Warren. He is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer Johnson (Tim); his two sons, Alec Warren (Crystal) and Troy Walls (Carmen), and wonderful and loving grandchildren, Lauren Johnson, Tyler Johnson (Debnes), Meagan Klima (Ian), Conner Johnson (Rhiannon), Bradley Warren, Isaac Warren, Kaylee Walls, Ashton Walls, Mia Southern, and Hannah and Colten Beard.
