George H. Jenkins Jr., 82, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara (Billie) Jenkins, and a cherished father to his two daughters, Joanna Sibley (Joseph) and Tracie Jenkins Tillage. George was a proud grandfather to his four grandchildren: Paige Sibley, Madalyn Tillage, Ashton Tillage, and Blake Sibley, who brought him endless joy.

Born in Hampton, Va., George was known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family. He cherished the time spent with loved ones and made countless memories that will be treasured forever. He was preceded in death by his parents, George H. Jenkins Sr. and Mildred G. Jenkins.

George proudly served the State of Virginia from 1962 to 1966, working at the NIKE AJAX and HERCULES missile sites. His role involved ensuring missile readiness in direct conjunction with the Army National Guard. After his military service, George dedicated 35 years to a successful career at Xerox Corporation, where he was respected for his work ethic and integrity.

George is also survived by his siblings, Brenda Baker (Bob), Cindy Duncan (Charles), and Steve Jenkins (Tracy), who will miss him dearly. His love and laughter will be remembered by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at Andrews Funeral Home on Thursday, October 3 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Bellany United Methodist Church on Friday, October 4 at 2 p.m.
