George D. Washington, 69, of Richmond, departed this life on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011.

He was a native of Gloucester, and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Pearl B. Burton; two daughters, Ramona Wilson (Calvin) of Suffolk, Va., and Calisse Manning of Gloucester, Va.; one son, Barney Washington of Williamsburg, Va.; stepdaughter, Pamela Burton of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Charles Washington (Vivian) of Gloucester; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, in Bethel Baptist Church, 2978 Hickory Fork Road, Gloucester. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Bethel.
