Geneva Brown Grandison, 86, of Virginia Beach, died on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022.

She was born Aug. 1, 1936 and was a native of Gloucester County and a graduate of Gloucester Training School, Norfolk State University and Old Dominion University. She had worked in Chesapeake Public Schools as a Special Educator for over 30 years, retiring in 1996. She attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Chesapeake.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Johnnie B. Grandison, and brothers, William Jackson and Thomas Burrell.

Survivors include her children, Ruby Grandison, Valerie Faison, Alfred Grandison, Navi Grandison, Lorenzo Grandison and Varden Grandison; 14 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at Steele-Bullock Funeral Home, Portsmouth. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 15 at the funeral home. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
