General reassessment completed in Gloucester

Gloucester County has completed a general reassessment of all real property in the county. 
Tentative 2020 Notice of Real Estate Assessment Change statements have been mailed and should be received by all property owners on record this week, according to a Gloucester County press release.
The tentative notice indicates the reassessed value for real estate property and improvements beginning Jan. 1, said the release. Localities are required by state law to reassess all property on a regular basis at fair market value, which is the price the property would sell for on the open market.
Property owners who have not received a copy of their tentative 2020 Notice of Real Estate Assessment Change statement by Monday should contact the Real Estate Assessment Office at 804-693-1325 or assessment@gloucesterva.info.
