The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society will hold a six-part lecture series, “Genealogy Research Topics, Tools, and Tips,” offered in-person at the Lancaster Community Library in Kilmarnock and virtually by Zoom on Thursday afternoons: Sept. 23 and 30, Oct. 7, 14 and 28 and Nov. 4.
Each session can be attended as a stand-alone program and will be taught by Sharon B. Hodges, a professional genealogist, local resident and LVHS member. Advance registration and payment are required no later than 4 p.m. on the day before each program.
“A portion of the class fees directly benefits the historical society for our museum and library operations and non-profit mission to preserve, understand, and share local history and genealogy,” said LVHS executive director Karen Hart. “All registrants will receive expert instruction, supplemental training handouts, and later access to a recording of their chosen sessions.
