Gene Terrence “Terry” Houston, 76, of Gloucester, passed away on May 8, 2024. He was very strong in his illness and is now at peace. Terry was a proud Hampton High Crabber and graduated from the Carolina Military Academy. He owned G.T. Houston Roofing & Sheet Metal Company for many years, retiring in 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roper Rowe Houston and Mary Catherine Rollins Houston, and brothers, Roper Jr., Wayne, and Lynn. Terry is survived by his ex-wife, Sue Houston Leed (Stephen); son, Rich Houston (Anne); grandchildren, Dylan Houston, Alex Silva, Logan Silva, and great-grandson, Isaac Houston. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Bethany United Methodist Church, in Gloucester Point, Va. The family will receive friends at Sue’s residence, following services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
