GCPS touts classroom successes

Tuesday night’s Gloucester County School Board meeting, which was held in the T.C. Walker Education Center, focused primarily on the classroom happenings and student achievements at Gloucester County Public Schools.
Page Middle School’s Treble Select Ensemble sang the National Anthem at the start of the meeting, under the direction of choral director Karen Scalf.
Botetourt Elementary School fifth grader Quinton Knight also took part in the meeting’s opening by leading the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. Knight is an honor roll student, active in youth baseball and basketball, sings for his church’s youth choir, and is involved in his school’s newspaper, the “Paw Print.”
Two Gloucester High School seniors were recognized as Seniors of the Month for November at the meeting.
