GCPS oratorical comp Tuesday

The Gloucester Branch of the NAACP and the Woodville Rosenwald School Foundation will hold its second annual oratorical competition for Gloucester County Public Schools students on Tuesday at the Fine Arts Museum of Gloucester, Main Street Center, from 9 a.m. until noon.
This year’s theme is “Dreams Deferred: What Responsibility Do You Have to Help Others Achieve Their Dreams?” Participating students in grades eight through 12 will have to prepare speeches based on that theme and will read them aloud. They will be judged on the content of their speeches, as well as their speaking skills.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, email GCPS Director of Secondary Instruction Dr. Diron Ford at diron.ford@gc.k12.va.us.
