Gazelle Williams White Ashberry, 83, of Foster, passed on to her heavenly home on May 10, 2014 expecting to meet those who have gone on before.
She is survived by her husband, John Edward Ashberry Sr., and her four children, Gerald White and Patty, Neal White and Nancy, Joy White Rogers and David, and Leanne White Bennett and Robert. She is also survived by five siblings; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Born Oct. 13, 1930, and raised on Gwynn’s Island, she married Warren White in 1949 and they moved to Mobjack, where they lived for almost 50 years and raised their four children.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home. Her funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Foster, with interment following at Providence Cemetery.
In lieu of flower arrangements, she requested that each of her friends place a single long-stemmed red rose on her casket.
