Gay Montague Grigg Phillips, age 63, of Gloucester, died on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Riverside Hospital in Newport News.

She was the daughter of Edward Grigg and Elizabeth Montague Nunnally Lindley, and was a great-granddaughter of Virginia Governor (1902-1906) and Mrs. Andrew Jackson Montague.

She is survived by her aunt, Janet Nunnally Burhans of Fredericksburg; four half-siblings who live in Richmond, and cousins, Robert L. Montague, III of Urbanna, and F. Breckinridge Montague of Gloucester.

Her funeral was at Ware Episcopal Church, Gloucester, on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at 2 p.m.
