Garland W. Robins, age 93, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at his home in Deltaville.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Moffitt Robins, and his parents, John W. and Emma Lee Healy Robins.
Garland started his wholesale business in 1950; he sold the business in 1984, and he retired in 1999. He was a founding member of the Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department, a charter member of the Middlesex Lions Club, and a member of the DCA.
Garland was a dedicated Christian who loved his church, his church family, and he held many positions of leadership throughout his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy Bartholomew of Deltaville; his son, Ed Robins and his wife Frances Marie of Hartfield; two grandsons, John Matthew Robins and his wife Sharon, and William F. Robins and his wife Tiffany, and four great-grandchildren, John Linton, Garrison Paul, Kallie Marie and William Blake.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10 at Forest Chapel UMC, Warner, Va., with burial in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda.
