Gail S. Armstrong, age 81, formerly of Norfolk and Mathews, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021. She was born on Aug. 28, 1940 in Lackawanna, New York. She retired from Honeywell Security after 30 years of service, and then she served as a home health aide. She was a member of the P. Buckley Moss Society, and had a rich social life. Above all she cherished connection with others. Generous with her time and resources, she was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Gail thought of others first, and expressed the virtues of kindness and empathy in every facet of her life. She indelibly left a mark on all those whom she crossed paths with. She will be sorely missed.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her companion, William T. Johnson. Survivors include her children, Tracy Carrington, Terri Armstrong-Knoop (Bill), and Scott Armstrong; grandchildren, Ryan White (Jarrod), Bryan Dunn (Krystie), Nich Snyder, and Chaz Carrington (Jessica); seven great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Ora Whitt; caregiver and dear friend, Sassy Wood, and many beloved family and friends.
