With a total of 25 candidates running for office in the Nov. 7 election, the Gwynn’s Island Civic League has decided to hold two forums, inviting all Mathews candidates to participate.
The first forum will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the Gwynn’s Island Civic Center, 1996 Old Ferry Road, Gwynn. Candidates for the board of supervisors and candidates for sheriff will have a chance to introduce themselves, answer questions, and give a final statement, said a press release.
The second forum will be on Thursday, Sept. 21, at the same time and location. Candidates for the school board, clerk of court, commissioner of revenue, commonwealth’s attorney, and treasurer are invited to participate.
The community is asked to send in questions they would like to have answered, said the release, adding that there will be no personal questions.League president Tyrone Hudgins will ask the questions, and candidates will get a chance to answer every question.
