The Gwynn’s Island Civic League will hold a forum for board of supervisor candidates only from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the G.I. Civic Center on Old Ferry Road. The public is welcome.
Candidates will be limited to a two-minute opening address, a two-minute closing address, and a one-minute answer to each question. The Civic League will have several prepared questions and will also accept written questions from the floor.
Piankatank Ruritans
Meanwhile, a Piankatank Ruritan Club candidate forum originally planned for Oct. 15 has been changed to this coming Monday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at the club building in Hudgins.
The date was changed because of a conflict with the Oct. 15 Mathews County Board of Supervisors/Planning Commission joint meeting. According to club spokesperson Bobby Dobson, all of the candidates running for opposed seats are expected to be in attendance.
