Funds sought to help with seizure response dog

A fundraising campaign is underway to help a 10-year-old Topping boy to get a specially trained seizure response dog.Zayden Williams has a rare seizure disorder called FIRES. This is a rare type of epilepsy that was caused by a febrile infection. Due to the intensity of his seizures and the fast onset, he is no longer able to recognize when one is about to begin, according to the GoFundMe page that has been set up for him.
“This is why it would be of great benefit to him and his mother to have a Seizure Medical Alert dog,” the GoFundMe page stated. “These dogs can alert Zay-den and those around him that a seizure is coming and help make the environment as safe as possible to avoid injury.”
Seizure response dogs cost over $20,000 and there are minimal to no resources that provide them at no cost in the area.
