The Moose Family Players will present three performances of “Frosty the Snowman” next month: at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 6565 Moose Drive, Gloucester. Written and set in 1951, the play evokes the spirit and attitudes of an earlier time, including period slang, said a press release. Chock-full of comic antics, this play with music tells the story of Frosty the Snowman, who came to life one day, and of the funny shenanigans he began before he melted away. The play includes the simple melody of “Frosty,” a popular American Christmas tune, sung by a cast ensemble of 55 students from Gloucester, Mathews, and Middlesex counties. Proceeds from the production will go toward the Christmas Dinner the Moose provides each Christmas Day and the VCU Children’s Cancer Hospital.
