The Friends of the Mathews Memorial Library Bookstore will have a reopening event from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday in the Orrell Building on Maple Avenue, behind the library on Main Street.
There will be refreshments, and those attending will be able to pick out one free book.
The bookstore, which is open on Saturdays, was closed for several weeks while volunteers painted the walls sunshine, and Rebecca and Michael McCourtney added a new mural, said a press release. The shelves are stocked with books of almost every genre, including thriller, romance, history, biographies, cook, classics, travel, and children’s books, “to name a few.”
Most of the gently-used books sell for just $1, said the release, with newly released and collectible items selling for slightly more.
Proceeds from all book sales go to support the children’s program at Mathews Memorial Library.
“Feed your passion for reading without breaking your budget,” said the release.
