The Friends of Dragon Run and their guests will celebrate the coming of spring with a guided nature hike from 1-3 p.m. this Sunday, March 19, at the Big Island complex.
There are three walking trails to meet almost everyone’s ability. “You will have an opportunity to view several spring ephemerals (plants that flower early in the spring and quickly disappear) like bloodroot and spring beauty. Leaves on many shrubs and trees will be coming out as well as other woodland plants,” a release stated.
A scavenger hunt will be held for those who would like to search for flora and fauna. In addition to enjoying nature, there will be friendly humans to relax with after the hike, plus hot cider and cookies.
Spaces are limited, so sign up early at DragonRun.org. The hike is free, but registration is required.
