Will Mitchell, owner and executive chef of the Farmasea Restaurant in Gloucester Court House, said he has been cooking since “I was a young child.” It’s something he has always loved to do even extending his talent to cooking his family’s meals in the Ware Neck area where he grew up.
With a degree in furniture design, Will moved to New York pursuing his career and specialized in articulator kitchen design. With him Will took his love of cooking. It wasn’t long before he realized it was really his first love and he entered a school in Manhattan where he earned his culinary degree.
Will returned to Virginia and began his first job as a chef in Norfolk, later venturing down to Charleston, South Carolina, working three to four years as executive chef and chef de cuisine. His next move was to Richmond where he operated the Blue Goat restaurant for several years. Then it was back home with an idea in mind.
