As part of a new initiative to promote business recruitment and retention, the Main Street Preservation Trust will hold a free breakfast workshop for business owners in Gloucester at 8 a.m. Tuesday in the Main Street Center Event Space near the Gloucester Library.

Jenny Crittenden, executive director of MSPT, said this workshop, as well as another planned for this summer, will be open to business owners throughout Gloucester, not just those in the Gloucester village.

Margie Johnson of Virginia Beach, will conduct the workshop, titled "Winning Business Strategies for Uncertain Times." Johnson is a "highly acclaimed speaker, trainer, author and consultant," Crittenden said, "who equips entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills that lead them to higher profitability and performance."
