Franklin Jerome White (Jay), 59, of Lake Charles, La., departed this life on Oct. 23, 2014 at Memorial Hospital, Lake Charles.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1954 to the late Benny C. White and Carrie E. White of Port Haywood, Va. He was a former resident of Mathews, Va., where he graduated from Mathews High School, before departing to Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Benny White Jr., and a sister, Lorraine White.

He is survived by his wife, Tonya Barrett; two sons, Michael O’Brien and Cecil Caesar; daughter, Theresa Barrett, all of Lake Charles; mother, Carrie White; three sisters, Faith Carter (Archie), Carolyn Cox (Thomas), Brenda Peterson (James), all of Cobbs Creek, Va.; three brothers, Robert White Sr. (Monica) of Lake Charles, Kenneth White (Pamela) of Richmond, Va., and Anthony White (Tara) of Columbia, Ga., and a host of nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at 12 noon at Antioch Baptist Church, Susan, Va. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Antioch Baptist Church or the Mathews Senior Center.
