Franklin Delano Jenkins, 74, of Newport News, died Aug. 23, 2012 at his home.
Franklin was a native of Gloucester County, and served his country in the U.S. Army.
Franklin enjoyed hunting, especially deer, duck and dove hunting. He was a Yankees fan, and loved watching old western movies. He was retired as a dispatcher from Benson-Phillips and also worked at H&R Block Tax Company. He loved his family and they will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley E. Sr. and Louise Jenkins, and brothers, Stanley E. Jenkins Jr. and William Jenkins.
He is survived by son, Craig Uselton; sister, Jean Reeves (Bobby); brother, Ralph Jenkins (Sheryl); special aunt, Charlotte Hall (Tom), and a host of other relatives and close friends.
Funeral services conducted by Pastor Steve Sales were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment with military honors followed in Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday from 5:30-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
