Photographer Linda Tjossem has a big fox in the woods near her home at Hayes. Last week, her kits showed up on her marsh walk. “I have never seen kits outside of a zoo, so it was a thrill,” she said. “The sound of their barks was new to me …. The wind was so strong and loud that they didn’t hear me. What a treat.” The kit season for foxes starts in March and runs through May. Foxes have up to 10 kits per litter, which grow to be adults in less than a year.
