Four inducted into GHS Hall of Fame

Gloucester High School inducted David “Woody” Woodson, Deanna Hogge Haywood, Dianna Hogge Cookson and Chris Clifford into its Athletic Hall of Fame during halftime of the GHS-Phoebus football game on Sept. 30. 
Woodson, a member of the GHS class of 2005, was a cross country and track and field athlete who earned 10 varsity letters. A district champion, he was named to five all-district teams, four all-region teams and qualified for state events four times. 
Woodson competed for Christopher Newport University where he earned 12 varsity letters, was an all-conference selection 15 times and was twice selected as conference runner of the year. He was an all-region selection twice and qualified for national meets four times. 
Also an Academic All-American, Woodson completed his doctorate in osteopathic medicine in 2014 and is now finishing his sports medicine clinical rotations.
