Food Truck Frenzy

The Abingdon Ruritan Club hosted its first Food Truck Frenzy on Saturday. Food offerings were provided by Papa Murphy’s Pizza, Shore Bites, Wild Horse Café, AR Smokehouse and funnel cakes by the Mathews Ruritan Club. A total of 30 vendors were in attendance with merchandise for purchase. Children’s entertainment included the Gloucester Library’s Bookmobile, an obstacle course provided by Anytime Fitness, Blackbeard’s Crew, Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue and face painting. Guests enjoyed entertainment by Farren Winter, Page Select Ensemble, The Rising Sons, an Elvis impersonator, Karen Scaif and D.J. Dallas. The Middle Peninsula Classic Cruisers provided classic cars for display as well. There was so much positive feedback the club hopes to make this a recurring event, according to a club spokesperson.
