Food Lion Feeds Orange Bag campaign underway

Food Lion is in the midst of its annual three-week Food Lion Feeds “Orange Bag Campaign” in stores and online, inviting customers to directly support efforts of addressing food insecurity in their local communities.
Food Lion Feeds will provide a minimum of two million meals to neighbors experiencing hunger through this yearly initiative, a release said. Since the campaign began in 2019, customers have helped provide more than 25.8 million meals through the sale of specially marked bags of oranges and cash donations.
The campaign runs began on Feb. 26 and runs through March 18. It benefits Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, and local partner food banks throughout Food Lion’s 10-state operating area, the release said. Food Lion Feeds was founded in 2014 by Food Lion to address food insecurity.
To support the effort customers can purchase specially marked orange bags or contribute cash donations in-store or online via Food Lion To Go.
