Bay Aging is one of 14 programs in seven states selected to receive funds from Food Lion to alleviate food insecurity among older adults.
Food Lion Director of Operations Selvedin Dokic and Saluda Store Manager Kevin Martin visited Bay Aging’s headquarters in Urbanna to present a check for $17,500. Dokic and Martin discussed Food Lion’s efforts to support the community and strategized with Kathy Vesley, Bay Aging President/CEO, on future initiatives to address hunger and isolation.
Bay Aging delivers more than 180,000 meals annually to clients across the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck and saw increased demand in 2024 as compared to 2023. This grant will help expand capacity and reflects the national partnership between Food Lion Feeds and Meals on Wheels America, according to a Bay Aging release.
