Fishing at Beaverdam Park Reservoir has been slower with the water temperatures rising, according to Park Ranger Elizabeth Keefer. The most recent water temperature reading was 84 degrees, she said on Monday.
Recent catches include white perch and black crappie being caught from a boat using a plastic 3-inch grub as well as night crawlers. Several largemouth bass, weighing between four and five pounds, have also been caught using artificial bait.
Beaverdam Park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. now through Labor Day. The park is renting watercraft, selling bait and concessions. For more information, call the Ranger Station at 804-693-2107.
