Fishing at Beaverdam Park Reservoir has picked up this past week, according to Park Ranger Elizabeth Keefer.
On Thursday morning, a fisherman caught a few black crappie from the floating pier using minnows. Sunday was a great day for anglers. One caught several yellow perch and crappie from a boat using minnows for bait. Another boat had anglers reeling in largemouth bass weighing between three and four pounds.
Beaverdam Park is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec. 31. The park rents watercraft, and sells bait and concessions. For more information, call the Ranger Station at 804-693-2107.
