Carson Stone, at left, and Chad Mcgrew, right, were among those who had good days fishing recently at Beaverdam Park. Stone caught a 6 pound bass using a ChatterBait. Mcgrew caught a 2.8-pound bass from his kayak near a stump bed using a topwater popper. He also caught a 19.5-inch pickerel from his kayak. Stone’s 8-year-old son caught a 2.14-pound bass while using a white top lure. Both father and son caught their fish from one of the park’s Jon boats on two different days. In other news from the Gloucester park, the Rippin Lips Open Series held a tournament on May 20. First-place winners Bubba West and Jerry Jenkins had a total bag weight of 20.76 pounds. Second place went to Jason and Melissa Cusic with a total bag weight of 19.88 pounds. Third place went to Matt Bradley and Scott Moore with a total weight of 18.75 pounds.
