Ware Academy kindergartener Chase Harris of Gloucester won first place in the environmental category for WHRO’s 2024 PBS KIDS Writers Contest for his original work, “Spy Cub Saves the Savannah.” His submission had to meet the criteria of 50-200 words, a minimum of five illustrations and was judged on originality, creative expression, storytelling and integration of text and illustrations. Harris will be recognized with other WHRO PBS KIDS award recipients at a ceremony next month.
