Fire causes significant damage to Guinea home

A fire early Friday evening caused significant damage to a home in Guinea, displacing two people. There were no injuries reported.
Firefighters from Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue were called to the home in the 2200 block of Cooks Landing Road shortly before 6:30 p.m.
On the scene were three engines, a tanker, Quint 3, a rescue, two medics, and utility vehicles. Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue responded mutual aid with an engine and a tanker; a total of 18 firefighters were on scene to fight the flames.
It took several hours and 16,000 gallons of water to put out the blaze. The home had significant fire and water damage to both floors. Firefighters were able to salvage what was left of the first floor, but not much was left of the second. All units cleared the scene at 9:23 that night.
Madelyn Polson and Sebastian Cremeans were living in the home at the time of the fire, but were away when the fire occurred. They currently are unsure of where they should go from here. Jo...
