Feb. 21 bird walk begins at Gloucester Point beach; backyard bird count starts

The Middle Peninsula Bird Club will visit three areas in the lower part of Gloucester County on Thursday, Feb. 21, beginning at 8 a.m.
Those interested in taking part in the bird walk should park at the Gloucester Point beach parking area, 1255 Greate Road.
The walk will include the beach, fishing pier, the boat ramp area, and the VIMS Teaching Marsh in the VIMS Boat Basin. There is also a boardwalk trail through a wooded area that leads to the VIMS beach next to the Boat Basin.
Next, the group will stop briefly at Williams Landing Boat Ramp on Timberneck Creek at the end of Williams Landing Road (Route 1303), Hayes. This public boat ramp is opposite the soon-to-be Middle Peninsula State Park. Finally, the group will proceed to Woodville Park, off Bray’s Point Road (Route 636), Ordinary.
