Fay Shipley Hudgins of Cobbs Creek, Va., passed away peacefully on Dec. 5, 2011 at Walter Reed Convalescent Center.
A native of Mathews County, he was born on June 4, 1930. He served in the United States Navy from 1950-1954. During his lifetime he had been in the trucking business, was a flower grower and farmer. In his later years he was a building contractor.
He was predeceased by his parents, Howard E. and Mava S. Hudgins, and his grandson, Jared Tyler Hudgins.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Christine, and two sons, Ricky F. Hudgins and wife Kathryn, granddaughter, Tara, and H. Keith Hudgins and wife Chong, all of Cobbs Creek. He is also survived by his two sisters, Kathryn Callis (Willie R.) and Norma Thomas (Carl D.), both of Mathews, Va.
The family received friends at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, from 6-8 p. m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with entombment following in Windsor Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum, Dutton, Va.
