Father/daughter Navy vets honored by UDC

Members of the Captain Sally Tompkins chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy participated in the UDC Military Award Ceremony for two United States Navy veterans, father and daughter, Joe Conrad Denby and Christina Lea Denby Webb. The program was held on Dec. 17 at the home of Becky Morgan.
Joe Denby of Gloucester received the Cross of Military Service No. 4182 for “faithfully and honorably serving in the Vietnam Conflict as a Seaman Recruit aboard the USS Everett F. Larson (DD-830).”
Christina Webb of Pleasant Hill, Ohio, received the National Defense Medal No. 2940 “for faithfully and honorably serving as a Boatswain’s Mate Third Class in the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Monongahela (AO-178).” Christina is a member of Captain Sally Tompkins Chapter 2626.
