The Fairfield Foundation, Gloucester, recently received a $5,000 grant from Virginia Humanities in support of commemorative events to celebrate the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence.
A release said Fairfield’s project is titled “George Washington Drank Here: A Revolutionary Tavern in King William County.”
Research will contribute to future signage, web publications and potential exhibitions in King William County, complementing exhibits at King William Museum, the release said.
