Fairfield Foundation, Gloucester among VA 250 grant recipients

Nearly $20 million in grant funding was awarded Friday to 35 preservation projects across Virginia through the Virginia 250 Preservation Fund—including two projects in Gloucester County, Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced.
Last year, Youngkin and the Virginia General Assembly established the VA 250 Preservation Fund in the state’s 2024-2026 biennial budget to support capital improvement projects at historic sites and museums that anticipate a significant increase in visitation in 2026, the year of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.Fairfield Foundation
The larger of the two local grants, in the amount of $600,000, was awarded to the Fairfield Foundation for improvements to the Fairfield Archaeology Park and the Rosewell Ruins and Visitor Center.
