After more than 20 years of working together, the Fairfield and Rosewell foundations have decided to integrate operations to coordinate education programming, consolidate fundraising and marketing opportunities and manage preservation of their historic resources.
Rosewell Board President Clayton James said that Fairfield co-directors Thane Harpole and Dr. David Brown “have proven to be excellent stewards of historically important sites in Gloucester.”
The two organizations have talked about partnering unofficially for years, but decided about a year ago to turn their consolidation ideas into reality.
James said there are many benefits to combining efforts with Fairfield, including having exposure with an organization that has national credibility, gaining access to additional volunteers and having contacts with the College of William and Mary, including the school’s archaeology department.
